i will cheer you on: a poem
You lost your charm,
your charisma.
You used to be so kind.
I guess life got the best
of you. It seems like you
just gave up. You stopped
fighting for the truth and laid
with the lies.
How does it feel? To be on top
of the world, as if you are peering
down the edge of a cliff,
your life can be taken at
any moment and how would
you be remembered?
What have you done
with yourself? You have
lost your fighter's spirit.
Your resilience is gone,
and your appetite for
ease and comfort has
grown. You are living the
life you think you should
live, and deep down, I know
you wont be happy.
You cannot be a professional
pretender forever.
However,
I will cheer you on.
I will mourn in silence
for your tenacity,
your strength, and your
need to want better.
I am not sure if you will
ever want like you wanted
again.
I just hope that you never
make the decision of
regretting that you
could have fought
a little harder.
