Good times: a poem
In the streets of Harlingen, Texas.
Looking for seafood to eat.
I came across a stand of a woman
selling elote.
She was happy.
Smiling, ready to
serve.
I was so hungry that
ordered a large,
with everything on it.
After I ate the
wonderful treat,
Our names were called.
"Myranda & Whitney?
Your table is ready."
I jumped for excitement.
Cafe de Mariscos.
The soup was immaculate.
I took a picture and documented
my excitement.
I didn't want to forget that
I was welcomed
by Texas 2.0.
We went to the mall,
and I got some work pants,
size medium.
They are still too big to this day.
Also picked up some
cologne.
When we headed back for
the town of kings,
we stopped at a checkpoint.
"Where did you go today?"
"Harlingen. Shopped for a few things,
and had elote and seafood."
"Okay, have a safe trip home."
Those were good times.
