a dozen roses: a poem

A dozen roses.
Every week.
A gift to myself.
Thanks for thinking of your future.
You deserve the world and more.
I wish I could give you each galaxy in the sky,
and put it on a nice necklace.
As another gift.

You made the right choice.
Please don't look back.
It was painful when he walked away from you,
but you're healing now.
You're making great strides of progress.
Don't focus on his apparent regret.
You're becoming too ripe for the next level.

Those roses there.
When you buy them,
they are quite shy.
After saying "good morning beautifuls",
They blossom up.
Give or take three days.
They have feelings too, ya know?
And they're always thirsty for more.
But freely give,
you'll reap the benefits of their beauty.
Your peace of mind.
