WE PRAY: a poem
***
I didn't ask to be human, and neither did you.
But we pray.
God, let your will be done.
Keeping our heads in the games,
we wait.
We yield by the Spirit
to guide us in His perfect will.
Not permissive.
Because we would be happy,
but not fulfilled.
Barely living,
and just getting by.
And we pray.
Can you help me?
I wish to stand next to you.
I got your back, like you have mine.
And we can walk shoulder to shoulder.
As we pray.
***
Till next time,
Whitney
