I WONT GIVE UP: a poem
I've made mistakes. Big ones.
Some of them, I don't think I could ever recover from.
Mistakes that have challenged my values. Mistakes that have left large wounds.
If I think back too hard, I just might shed a tear or two.
But that is the lie. That you can never recover from such a thing.
The intrusive thoughts think they have the power to taunt and harass you.
But they don't.
God wants your freedom more than you.
He wants you to turn away and run towards holiness.
Do not let the enemy lie to you.
***
My tears.
They say "I wont give up. As long as I live, I wont give up."
And they are heard.
Yes, I am not a perfect one. Far from it.
But I wont give up. Because Jesus didn't. And He made it.
Jesus gets it. He gets it more than I do.
And He always offers a way out of the prison recreational field of sin.
Take the ticket.
Move swiftly, and do not look back.
Seek and know freedom!
***
Guard your fear of the Lord with all your might.
Because without it, you are truly lost.
And know the difference.
The difference between "loving God" and "fearing God".
When you fall in the mud, quickly stand up.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help to dust you off.
And run. Even when you are not ready.
Time is of the essence. You do not have much of it.
***
All the best,
Whitney
