What is REALLY going on in Texas right now?

Hey you.

Glad to see you back! Judging from the title on this post, your gifted eyes want to read something that was on my mind. And I will always be grateful that people who are willing to hear (read) what I have to say. I also highly recommend that you comment below this post and tell me what you think and share what is your mind too; I love to read your thoughts on the matter. So let me get right on to what I want to discuss about and leave you alone.

What is REALLY going on in Texas right now?

Im talking about Texas today because I was born and raised in the Lone Star State. When I go on social media, Texas is not far from the discussions I typically see. So I cannot ignore what is going in Texas, and I wanted to share my thoughts.

Let me give some context. From my perspective, I have only seen snow once in my home state. Ever since I left Texas for school, I have noticed remarkable and extreme weather conditions within the span of 1 year. In 2017, Hurricane Harvey hit east Texas and left cities debilitated. That same year, snow arrived. And while it was not as apparent as it is now, it was something to note. So now, 2021. For the past couple of days,  I have received numerous videos and pictures from family and loved ones across the state showing snow and sleet. On the morning on February 16th, there was a fatal incident on I-35 (In California, they would say "The 35"), which left at least 130 (not a typo) cars in wreckage, and has killed 6 people, leaving dozens injured. It was the worst car accident I have ever seen in my short life. And it was allegedly caused by ice and sleet on the roads that early morning.

Days later, the geographical areas south of Forth Worth began to experience heavy snowfall, and cars, roads, roofs and lawns across the entire state was covered in snow. While this may have been an experience that many Texans enjoyed for a few hours, planned power outages began across the state. Families were left to use what they had lying around at home to keep themselves warm, and many of those without a home were stranded, looking for a place of warm shelter.

In the meantime, the government has not released a single word on what Texans can do to keep themselves safe, other than, and I loosely quote, stay indoors.

I can give you more context. Since May 2020, the Lone Star state has been open, meaning the state was only closed for about a couple of months since the beginning of the pandemic. This is a controversial issue, as the government did not want their the state's economy to die down, putting millions of lives at risk of contracting and spreading COVID-19.

I have personally developed a habit of interrogating all thoughts and feelings that creep in when perceived injustice occurs--ANYWHERE. As a matter of fact, we are called to do so.

"Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ." -- 2 Corinthians 10:5

While I have presented the facts on this case, my thoughts that riddle me are interrogated with the following:

1. Why does Texas happen to experience such extreme weather conditions, typically within a span of a year?

2. I know the people of the United States (including myself) are extremely frustrated with the Texas government and their ability to selectively address instances like this one...What does this tell us?

3. Is there anything that we can do to bring solutions to what is happening?

I will try to answer these questions in an attempt to shed some light and unmask the power that we have when it comes to addressing things like the weather and the government. Hold on, and hear me out!

1. Many people may not realize that the weather can be controlled in the manner that they think. No, I am not suggesting that the government is controlling the weather. I am suggesting that weather is a reaction to actions done in a community. For instance, Texas is a state that experiences "hurricane season", in which hurricanes and tropical storms hit the area during a certain time of the year. What if the reason why Texas (you can also include any other area as well) experiences harsh weather conditions as a result of the actions that take place in that area? What actions do I mean? Frankly, actions that may involve witchcraft or anything against God. Think about it...(by the way, I am not suggesting that God is involved with this extreme weather in any way)

2. In my last post, I spoke about what frustration really means. Others, including myself, have been extremely frustrated with what the way the government is leading the people of Texas, and in all honesty, this is telling me that God wants to tell Texas something. God wants Texas to pay attention to what He has to say. The fact that the frustration is selectively coming from the inability of the government to lead, God is directing our attention to the mountain of Government (I am referring to the mountains of influence--I highly encourage to look this up if you don't know what I am talking about). God wants to place (and replace) His people on this mountain. I hope your ears are open, because He is talking to you.

3. We as a people have to remember to be solution-focused when we are tempted to be problem-based. A great example of this is a woman by the name of "rebecca mix" who tweeted a thread of suggestions and solutions for all affected by the snowstorm to stay warm and safe. If you are need for those suggestions, feel free to check them out on Twitter.

We cannot sit and wait when God has given us the tools to combat these things. Prayer is in the hands of every believer! Also, God may inspire you to get creative and potentially make an invention that can help millions all over the world.

The moral of the story is stay warm, stay safe, and keep your eyes and ears open to what God is telling you. If you are stuck at home with nothing to do, spend time with our Dearest Father. There is something He wants to pull out of you and He has your attention.

I hope this made you think a little.

Respectfully,

Whitney💕
